Decoding next year: Budget 2025

Last but not least, the Sphere of Employment law has been also affected by the 2025 Budget.

The coming year should bring about a revision of the Wage Regulation Orders with relevance to sick leave, leave allowances, and overtime payments amongst other aspects.

For full-time workers, the Cost of Living Adjustment and Other Employment Conditions will be €5.24 per week, while part-time workers and students will get a pro-rata increase. The minimum wage has also been raised to €221.78 per week.

Additionally, employees will be encouraged to invest in occupational pension plans, with employers required to offer such plans to all employees. Employers may contribute to these plans, though they are not obligated to do so.
